Farewell Mad Men
Farewell, Mad Men!

— What I wore…
Earrings: Swarovski Top: Express Skirt: Vintage (Purchased at “Retro Woman” in Notting Hill, England: http://www.mgeshops.com/retro-woman-20pr/) Sunglasses: Vintage Shoes: Primark — Musical Inspiration: “Face the Fire” by Michelle Chamuel —
Nothing makes you feel more like a “lady” than a full skirt. I found this adorable frog printed skirt on a Vintage shopping excursion in one of my favorite spots in London: Notting Hill. “Retro Woman” is an amazing store on Pembridge road that I highly recommend. Prepare to be overwhelmed with what you’ll find! After scoring some truly unique treasures on the first floor I headed down to the bargain basement and immediately saw this skirt standing out among others on the rack. The bold color, quirky print and full “bubble” shape made me fall in love with it. Plus the pockets add a modern quality as well as being practical.
I felt very inspired by the series finale of “Mad Men” and some street style photos of Dita Von Teese who has been perfecting “The Art of Overdressing” for years. I really look up to her for bringing the classic hourglass silouhette to the forefront of fashion. Trends be damned! As you can see in the photos below that inspired this look she rocks a retro frock like no other. Proving also that the timeless fashion of shows like “Mad Men” will live on forever!–V.
