Graphic Stripes

What I wore…

Sunglasses: Red Stag Necklace: River Island Blouse: XXI Vest: Vintage Pants: Hue Shoes: Steve Madden Musical Inspiration: “Time Bomb” by Kylie Minogue

Is this an outfit with some PUNCH or what? This look, like the yellow mini cooper playing the role of my costar, is NOT for someone who doesn’t want to stand out. There is admittedly a lot to look at whether it be the graphic stripes of the blouse, the vibrant pops of red in the pants and sunglasses or even the heavy suede booties! Yet somehow I felt comfortable in the outfit knowing each piece wasn’t competing with the other.

I’ve spoken before about how much I love stretchy jeans from the brand “Hue”. A red pair is so fun to mix and match with! These jeans come in a rainbow of colors and fabrics from “Hue”. (I’m dying to get my hands on a corduroy pair they have in mustard yellow!) Another standout piece, in my opinion, is this art deco necklace from River Island that I’ve tucked underneath the collar of the blouse to give it a sort of “brooch” feel. But as you can see peeking out in some of the photos, it is attached to a heavy silver chain. In fact I can’t take FULL credit for this pairing. One of the girls on “The Only Way is Essex” had this exact necklace on underneath a collared shirt. I’d never thought of wearing it this way. Normally I throw it on as is or layer it with a longer chain as seen in my past “Leather Accents” blog post.

So there you have it. If you’re watching catty British reality TV shows and someone starts to make fun of you for loving “mindless TV” you can put the blame on me. I’ll take it because I know that fashion inspiration can come from anywhere.

….Even Essex. 😉

P.S. In all seriousness #TOWIE is an addictive show. I absolutely LOVE it. Seasons 1 through 12 are available now on Hulu Plus! You’re welcome. 😉
