Hat: Target Top: Bebe Pants: H&M Bag: Aldo Shoes: Jessica Simpson Sunglasses: XRay Eyewear (Promo code below!!!) — Musical Inspiration: “Man Like That” by Gin Wigmore —
These black and white sunglasses from XRAY EYEWEAR were the inspiration for this look. I thought the shape just screamed “Jackie O”, right? Well as much as I LOVE recreating looks from the most fabulous First Lady our country has ever known, I thought I’d challenge myself to pair these shades with a look I borrowed from the boys.
A standard go-to hat for a menswear look is good structured trilby. This one from Target was perfect with the simple striped ribbon detail. Speaking of stripes I LOVE this blouse with so many different bottoms. It’s loose enough to be tucked in haphazardly which gives it a “cool” vibe and downplays the girliness of the sash at the neck. I purposely left it tied loosely. A bow would be too feminine for the vibe I was going for.
The black pants are my favorite purchase EVER from H&M. Which says a lot considering it’s a store that I constantly shop in. They are the coolest shape and fit amazingly well. Comfortable but still polished. I saw them on a mannequin first and had to have them. It’s always a well thought out look when I wear pants because I so rarely do! These really take the guess work out of wearing a slouchy yet sophisticated trouser. I’ve dressed them up for more business-y occasions but have also found casual ways to wear them with flats and a cool tee when traveling.
A side slung purse felt right, here. Maybe I’ve been watching “24” too much because Jack Bauer ALWAYS inspires me to try this. His “man satchel” is cool, chic AND it’s big enough to hold all his secrets! The one I featured here from Aldo is so adorable with the quilting, gold chain and leather bow.
These shoes I have to say are my “safety net” back into the fabulous, frilly world of femininity! I couldn’t resist wearing an aqua platform pump by Jessica Simpson for my pop of color. Her line of shoes is so amazing. I admit to having a ridiculous amount of them at the ready. Affordable, comfortable, on trend and they LAST.
