Might As Well JUMPSUIT

Jumpsuits can be very tricky. Let’s get that negative fact out of the way for starters. Fit is essential. It is often a very unflattering silhouette so my advice is to play it safe and choose a fabric similar to the one shown here. Jersey is super comfortable, drapes beautifully and keeps the look breezy and effortless. When paired with the right accessories a jumpsuit can be a very easy piece to throw on! A dark color keeps it flattering and a solid color ensures you’ll get a lot of mileage out of it since you can change accessories however you see fit.
Many years ago I was lucky to find this chocolate brown jumpsuit in a small boutique in L.A.’s Beverly Center mall. The sash attached at the middle can be tied in so many different ways! I opted for the one shoulder “toga” look on a sunny afternoon in Florida. Adding a thick brown belt and classic Louis Vuitton finished the ensemble. But for additional glamour I attached this cool, plastic sunglass chain to my vintage tortoiseshell sunglasses that I purchased at another California store: American Vintage.
Shoes should also be something to consider when rocking a jumpsuit. I found that flats are too sloppy looking (as I usually think they are…) and with the longer hemline of the pant I didn’t want the pants dragging on the ground. A sturdy mid-level wedge provided just enough height!
Though I stayed in the same neutral colored palette here I would love to pair this jumpsuit with colored accessories sometime. Perhaps chunky turquoise jewelry? What would YOU pair with it? I’d love to hear your feedback! Use the “Ask Val” section or comment below!
Have a fabulous week, my friends!
