Do you know what my favorite part of Summer is? Even more than drinking prosecco in a sun drenched pub garden? It’s expressing my seasonable right to have FUN with fashion! As much as I appreciate colder months, rich fabrics & darker colours I must admit that there is something whimsical about suiting up in a fresh Summer ensemble that sends a sweeter, less serious sartorial message.

Case in point: prints! What better time than Summer to try a print in eternally flattering black and white? Today’s look is a coordinating top & skirt that can be worn in a myriad of ways. I have the option to wear just the top with a sleek pair of black trousers and a blazer for a work appropriate look. Or I could choose to wear just the skirt with a simple top and flats instead of heels for a more casual daytime look. The purpose of implementing prints into your wardrobe is to refresh what you already have hanging in your closet. Or, as seen here, you can go all out and wear your favourite print from head to toe! Just add a few cute accessories to complete the statement. I’ve chosen oversized glasses, a sleek clutch and platform heels…but for you I suggest whatever accessories strike your fancy. A classic straw bag and espadrilles would work beautifully too!

Though I’ve opted for a neutral palette of black and white, I do encourage you to embrace colour wherever you see fit. I try to remind you in every article that no matter what you choose, confidence must be your greatest accessory. To rock a vibrant colour or daring print you’ll need it in droves! If you’re questioning yourself when putting your own signature look together please remember that you’re allowed to use Summer as an excuse to try something new.

Until next time, fashionistas!
