My favorite part of blogging is interacting with my readers. Well…it’s technically my second favorite part, with the first being that I get to play dress up for my job and flounce around town in clothes that make me feel fabulous! But I can thank one of my readers for inspiring this exact outfit and many more. Wendi from Jacksonville, FL wrote me and asked how she could “pull off” the tutu/ballskirt trend she’s seen bloggers wear on sites like BlogLovin and Pinterest. Since this is one of my favorite skirt shapes I am happy to show you how to wear it in interesting ways. This will literally be a “Tutorial” on TuTu’s! I’ll break down each look and explain why a full, feminine tulle skirt is actually NOT a trend. It’s a wardrobe staple.
I’m calling this first look “Romantic” because I wanted to up the drama with seriously elegant extras. A scalloped lace top with bow detail, red nails and a romantic cranberry lip color. This shade is “Bitten Berry” from Pixi. It is my new favorite bold red and I’ve been wearing it constantly! I wanted my hair to echo the romance, so I curled the ends, made a deep side-part and topped it off with a sweet but simple black satin headband. This look would be perfect for a date night or a fancy evening on the town. I chose a pair of sparkly cut-out heels from Zara that add some final glamour.
In this four part series I’ll show you various pairings with this exact skirt to highlight it’s versatility. So we have 3 more looks to go in this TuTu-torial! Stay tuned for more and send me your feedback!
