Tutu-torial: Sophisticated
Tutu-torial: Sophisticated

Who says a tutu can’t be grown up? This outfit challenges that theory by adding sophistication to this beloved vintage tulle skirt. The tones of black, white and grey in the skirt led me to pair it with this adorable cropped jacket that I’d previously had trouble figuring out what to wear with it. Cropped jackets should always require longer tops underneath or in this case a longer hemline on the bottom to balance out the proportions.
I have always loved “office” looks. Perhaps because it’s the opposite of what my profession requires me to wear! I envy people who have to dress for the 9-to-5 lifestyle. By adding a chunkier, more serious heel shape I’ve weighed down the femininity of the tutu. Rounding out the look with simple black faux glasses, a bold red lip and a glossy structured designer bag I’m ready for that board meeting!
I admit to taking sartorial liberties here as this look wouldn’t be appropriate in EVERY office…but you get the point. Don’t count out a wearing a girly skirt in a sophisticated setting! It is your right as a business woman to rock tulle in however you see fit.
