On a rainy afternoon I decided to go to Orlando’s marvelous “Morse Museum” in an outfit that made me feel positively romantic. Nothing, of course, is more romantic than white lace. But how do we incorporate such a “bridal” statement into a modern ensemble? Toughen it up with heavy chains and anchor the sweetness with a dark shade like navy, as I’ve done here.

I love a pop of red when it comes to footwear. This ankle strap heel was the perfect shape to compliment the nod to vintage in this outfit. A classic Louis Vuitton pochette with a handy silver chain strap I stole off another one of my purses ensured I could be hands free to read my museum guide.
